The Gab is a Cork-based storytelling community. The Gab stories are traditional or contemporary, personal, humorous, serious or sometimes all of the above.
What is the Mixtape?
The Gab Mixtape is a monthly entertaining evening of storytelling where storytellers practice and hone their storytelling craft in an ideal setting, usually a pub. Stories are interspersed with a little song and a little poetry, but the spotlight is very much on the art of the oral tradition and contemporary craft of telling stories. The Mixtape has a pre-planned set list, it is not open mic.
What is the Sketchbook?
The Gab Sketchbook is a monthly workshop, a place for tellers and potential tellers to play with stories. A place to tell, listen and learn.
Our mission
The mission of the Gab is to practise and preserve the oral tradition of storytelling, and to develop storytelling as a contemporary art form.
